COUNTY BOARD OF LEGISLATORS
SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 12, 2005 (6:30 P.M.)
The County Board of Legislators met pursuant to adjournment.
The Honorable William J. Ryan in the Chair.
The Chair opened the meeting with the salute to our flag and an invocation.
The roll call resulted as follows:
Legislators: Young, Oros, Abinanti, Alvarado, Astorino, Bronz, Burrows, Kaplowitz, LaMotte, Maisano, Myers, Pinto, Rogowsky, Spreckman, Stewart-Cousins, Wishnie, Chair – 17.
Absent: None.
SPECIAL ORDER: CHAIR OF THE BOARD: Hurricane Katrina Relief: RES 163-2005: Resolution expressing the sentiment of the Board of Legislators that the County of Westchester stands ready to assist the survivors of Hurricane Katrina with personnel and resources to the full extent permitted by law.
Mr. Kaplowitz presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption, which was declared adopted.
SPECIAL ORDER: CHAIR OF THE BOARD: Hurricane Katrina Relief: RES 164-2005: Resolution recommending the adoption of an Act transferring $1,000,000 from a contingency reserve to a Westchester County Katrina Relief Fund.
Mr. Kaplowitz presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption, which was declared adopted.
SPECIAL ORDER: CHAIR OF THE BOARD: Hurricane Katrina Relief: ACT 190-2005: Act amending the 2005 County Operating Budget for the purpose of transferring $1,000,000 in appropriations within various county departments, to provide assistance to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Mr. Kaplowitz presented the following report and Act and moved that the report be received, filed and approved and the Act adopted, which motion was carried by the following vote:
AYE: Legislators: Young, Oros, Abinanti, Alvarado, Astorino, Bronz, Burrows, Kaplowitz, LaMotte, Maisano, Myers, Pinto, Rogowsky, Spreckman, Stewart-Cousins, Wishnie, Chair – 17.
NAY: None.
