COUNTY BOARD OF LEGISLATORS
SPECIAL MEETING
FEBRUARY 27, 2006 (11:00 A.M.)
The County Board of Legislators met pursuant to adjournment.
The Honorable William J. Ryan in the Chair.
The Chair opened the meeting with the salute to our flag and an invocation.
The roll call resulted as follows:
Legislators: Rogowsky, Oros, Abinanti, Alvarado, Bronz, Burrows, Burton, Kaplowitz, Myers, Pinto, Stewart-Cousins, Young, Chair – 13.
Absent: Legislators: LaMotte, Maisano, Spreckman, Swanson – 4.
CHAIR OF THE BOARD AND THE COMMITTEE ON LEGISLATION: 2006 State Legislative Package: RES 12-2006: Resolution requesting that the New York State Legislature act on passing the 2006 Joint State Legislative Package.
Mr. Young presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption, which was declared adopted by a vote of 12-0. Mr. Abinanti was not present when he vote was taken.
CHAIR OF THE BOARD AND THE COMMITTEE ON LEGISLATION: Home Rule Request: RES 13-2006: Resolution that the Board of Legislators approve a Home Rule Request in support of S. 6593/A. 9753 entitled, “An Act to amend ch. 617 of the laws of 2003, relating to authorizing the County of Westchester to discontinue the use of certain parks, in relation to amending the metes and bounds relating thereto.”
Mr. Young presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption, which was declared adopted.
CHAIR OF THE BOARD AND THE COMMITTEES ON LEGISLATION AND ENVIRONMENT & ENERGY: Idling Time of Diesel Powered Vehicles: LOCAL LAW INTRO 1-2006: Local Law with respect to idling time of diesel powered vehicles.
Mr. Abinanti presented the following report and Local Law and moved that the report be received, filed and approved and the Local Law adopted, which motion was carried by the following vote:
AYE: Legislators: Rogowsky, Oros, Abinanti, Alvarado, Bronz, Burrows, Burton, Kaplowitz, Myers, Pinto, Stewart-Cousins, Young, Chair – 13.
NAY: None.
CHAIR OF THE BOARD AND THE COMMITTEES ON LEGISLATION AND ENVIRONMENT& ENERGY: Disposal of Cellular Telephones: LOCAL LAW INTRO 2-2006: Local law with respect to the disposal of cellular telephones.
Mr. Abinanti presented the following report and Local Law and moved that the report be received, filed and approved and the Local Law adopted, which motion was carried by the following vote:
AYE: Legislators: Rogowsky, Oros, Abinanti, Alvarado, Bronz, Burrows, Burton, Kaplowitz, Myers, Pinto, Stewart-Cousins, Young, Chair – 13.
NAY: None.
On MOTION of Legislator Rogowsky, The Board adjourns.
