Just in time for spring, Minority Leader George Oros (R-C/Cortlandt) is pleased to announce $2.65 million was approved by the Board of Legislators for the rehabilitation of the irrigation system and replacement of the clubhouse roof at Mohansic Golf Course in Yorktown.

Deemed necessary by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation to maintain the good health of the grounds at Mohansic, the upgrading of the nearly 30-year-old irrigation system will include new piping and sprinklers. The clubhouse was built in the 1920’s and the original roof has never been replaced.

“Recreation is an integral part of what makes Westchester County such a wonderful place to live,” Oros said. “Our golf courses are very popular and wear and tear eventually takes its toll on the grounds. This project should give Mohansic a much needed facelift.”

Oros, whose district includes northern Yorktown, said any residents interested in finding out more about the county’s golf courses and other recreational facilities should visit the county web site www.westchestergov.com.
