Statement on November 21 cross burning incident in Town of Cortlandt

“There’s no place for racism in our community. I applaud the efforts of the State Police and Westchester County District Attorney’s Office in prosecuting this case. We are all inspired by the dignity and courage of the family that was the unfortunate targets of this horrific act of hate. The time has come for us to wake up and realize we have a lot of work to do to improve relations between all of us. Thanks to Supervisor Linda Puglisi, Reverend Aldophus Lacey of Mount Olivet Baptist Church and Hendrick Hudson Schools Superintendent Daniel McCann for organizing the first forum to address this serious issue.”
