Contact: George Oros; Tel: (914) 995-2828 Following on the heels of approval of a pedestrian foot bridge at Blue Mountain Reservation in Cortlandt, Legislator George Oros (R/C-Cortlandt) is happy to announce additional funding has been secured for further enhancements and site improvements at the county park.
As part of a $900,000 bond act for parks, Blue Mountain, located off Welcher Avenue, is scheduled to be the recipient of several additions that should make every visitor’s experience there even more enjoyable.
One of the new attractions will be a regulation sand volleyball court. Also planned is a new pavillion; 12 grills; 43 picnic tables; 15 park benches; and 50 new trees.
“The vast array of parks and open space in Westchester is one of the many reasons people cherish living and working here,” Oros said. “I encourage every resident to take the time this fall to visit one of our parks. It will be time very well spent.”
