FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 9, 2007

Contact: Leg. Thomas Abinanti; Tel: (914) 592-7100; tjaesq@aol.com

The County Board’s Environment & Energy Committee will discuss Broadwater Energy’s proposal to build a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) import, storage and re-gasification terminal at a depth of 90 feet in Long Island Sound at its meeting on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.

“Environmentalists have raised some serious objections to this project,” said Committee Chair Thomas J. Abinanti (D, I, WF.) “If they are correct, this project could prove to be an environmental disaster for our region.”

“We need to get the facts firsthand and decide for ourselves whether this project is good for our community,” said Abinanti.
