KAPLOWITZ TO NEW CASTLE RESIDENTS:“SHRED IT AND FORGET IT!”

Legislator to bring County Shred Mobile to New Castle Recycling Center this Friday, May 11th, from 12:00 – 2:00pm

Westchester County Legislator Michael B. Kaplowitz (D-I-WF, Somers), chairman of the County Board’s Budget & Appropriations Committee, will be bringing the County’s “Mobile Shredder” to the New Castle Recycling Center (located at 210 Hunts Lane in Chappaqua) this Friday, in order to give local residents an opportunity to have their unwanted personal papers destroyed, in an effort to prevent identity theft.

“Identity theft costs consumers millions of dollars a year,” said Kaplowitz. “One of the best ways to minimize the risk of becoming a victim of identity theft is to shred the documents you no longer need that have personal identifying information such as your name, address, phone number, credit card number or Social Security number.”

Kaplowitz noted that this free County service has been enormously popular and is particularly helpful to seniors.
