At a ground-breaking ceremony for a new ballfield at Flint Park in Larchmont, County Legislator Judy Myers (D-Larchmont), who successfully secured county funding for the project, thanked the many people who worked with unprecedented speed to make the field possible. Myers said,
To County Executive Andy Spano for developing the Legacy program in the first place; to County Board Chair Bill Ryan for helping me push this project forward; to my fellow legislators--- especially Vito Pinto and Ken Jenkins---for voting to fund it; to Larchmont Village and the Town of Mamaroneck officials for their leadership in making this an inter-municipal effort; to the county's Parks, Planning and Law Departments for their expertise and professionalism; and last but not least, to "Fields for Kids" for their persistence and support in helping to make this field a reality. We need more athletic fields and this is most definitely a step in the right direction!
County Board Chair Bill Ryan added one more thanks. "The community should thank Legislator Judy Myers, said Ryan. "This new field will be built because of her determined efforts to provide for the kids in her district. Without Judy Myers, there would be no new ballfield. Whe played a central role in coordinating the efforts of local officials, area residents and county departments, and, was effective in lining up the votes she needed in the legislature to approve the project."
