COMMITTEE ON PARKS & RECREATION BEGINS PROBE OF RYE PLAYLAND TRAGEDY

What: The Board’s Committee on Parks & Recreation to be updated on the investigation into the tragic accident this past week at Rye Playland.

Who: Legislator José Alvarado, Parks Committee Chair, will preside.
Officials from the Department of Public Safety and the Department of Parks to report on the investigation into the circumstances leading to the tragic death of a child on the Old Mill ride at Rye Playland.

When: Tuesday, August 9 at 12:30 PM

Where: Board of Legislators’ Committee Conference Room, Michaelian Office Building, 8th Floor

Why: The Committee on Parks & Recreation, exercising its oversight authority, will be briefed on the ongoing investigation into the tragic death of a child on Playland Park’s the Old Mill ride this past week and the adequacy of safety measures currently in place.
