FREE HIV TESTING PROGRAM A SUCCESS
County Legislator Judy Myers (D,I,WF- Larchmont), Chair of the Family, Health and Human Services Committee, said that the Free HIV Testing Program the county held today, World Aids Day, was a big success, drawing 39 county residents for HIV testing. The program is part of a larger effort to raise awareness that widespread HIV testing is the key to lowering the spread of the disease. In addition, treatment is more effective if the virus is detected earlier. Myers intends to continue outreach on this important issue by making testing programs, like the one held today, available on a more regular basis.
