County Legislature Honors Science Fair Winners

Before the start of its May 22 meeting, the Board of Legislators honored 17 high school students from around the County who recently represented Westchester County at the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) is the world’s largest pre-college science fair. It brings together more than 1,200 of the most curious and capable young science pioneers from more than 40 countries to share ideas, showcase cutting-edge science and compete for more than $2 million in awards and scholarships.

Categories included: behavioral and social sciences, biochemistry, engineering, mathematics, medicine and health among others.

Ranji Raju, a student at Gorton High School, is the 2006 Mayor’s Memorial Day oratorical contest winner in Yonkers. He opened the event with a compelling presentation of the Gettysburg Address.
