Westchester County Board of Legislators’ Statement

The Westchester County Board of Legislators condemns in the strongest possible terms the tragic shooting that claimed the lives of two Israeli embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. last night. This senseless act of violence represents an attack not only on these individuals and their families, but on the values of tolerance and respect that define our community.

Just days after we proudly celebrated Jewish American Heritage Month, we are reminded that the fight against hate and intolerance requires constant vigilance. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims' families and stand in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors during this dark moment.

As elected leaders, we remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive environment where all residents can live without fear of violence or discrimination. Hate has no place in Westchester County, and we will continue to stand united against acts of terror that seek to divide us.
