Board Launches “Meet Your Legislator” Series

The Westchester County Board of Legislators is launching a new social media video series, Meet Your Legislator, offering residents an inside look at the people who represent them in county government.

In short videos, legislators share their priorities, challenges, views about their home communities, and the experiences that shape their public service. The series debuts on Wednesday, April 1. A new legislator will be featured each week.

Chairman Vedat Gashi (D–New Castle, Ossining, Somers, Yorktown) said, “Meet Your Legislator is a simple way for residents to get to know us. It puts faces to the work we do and gives people a better sense of who we are, what we care about, and who we represent.”

Westchester County’s 17 elected legislators serve and advocate for their respective districts. Together, they comprise the County’s legislative and policymaking body, adopting laws, approving the County budget, and overseeing government operations. The Board’s decisions directly affect daily life for Westchester’s one million residents.

Episodes of Meet Your Legislator will be available on the Board’s official social media pages.

Residents can find the legislator who represents their district by using the “Find Your Legislator” tool, and entering their address.
