Board Hosts Second Public Forum on 2026 County Budget

The Westchester County Board of Legislators held the second of two public input sessions for the FY2026 County Budget at the Daronco Town House in Pelham on Wednesday night, ahead of a formal public hearing on December 3rd.  Nearly 50 residents, nonprofit leaders and community advocates shared budget priorities for the coming year. Concerns ranged from childcare and affordable housing to arts programs and domestic violence services.

Board Celebrates Albanian American Heritage Month

The Westchester County Board of Legislators celebrated Albanian American Heritage Month on Monday night with a ceremony recognizing two exemplary community leaders: Jacqueline Kapaj-Vieira,Founder and Executive Director of the Albanian American Educators Association, and Edi Dedi, restaurateur and educator behind Zuppa Restaurant & Lounge in downtown Yonkers.

 Residents and Community Leaders Share Input on County Spending Priorities

Board Hosts First Input Session on 2026 County Budget

The Westchester County Board of Legislators held the first of three opportunities for residents to participate in the 2026 County Budget process Thursday night. More than 50 people took to the microphone in the auditorium of the Peekskill City School District Ford Administration Building to share input about their priorities as legislators review the operating budget proposed by County Executive Ken Jenkins on December 7, 2025. Community speakers advocated for a range of concerns including subsidized childcare, arts funding, and environmental protection.
