On Monday, October 21, the Board of Legislators proudly celebrated the outstanding contributions of the Westchester County Department of Correction in a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the department's founding.

This celebration followed the Department of Correction’s observance on May 10, 2019 in Valhalla, and enabled the Board of Legislators to extend special congratulations to the Corrections team.  On hand were Commissioner Joseph Spano, who addressed the legislators, as well as many members of his team and advisory board members as well.

On display in the BOL Rotunda were photo montages highlighting 50 years of Correction’s workforce/partners and many of their client rehabilitation programs and services, as well as displays of historic memorabilia, photos and artifacts from the Department of Correction’s Museum.
