White Plains, NY — The Board of Legislators has set Tuesday, November 3, the date of the upcoming general election, as the date for a special election to fill the District 13 legislative seat in Mount Vernon. That seat became vacant August 6 when former Legislator Lyndon Williams stepped down to become City Court Judge in Mount Vernon.

Board Chairman Ben Boykin, long-time Mount Vernon Legislator and soon-to-be Mount Vernon City Court Judge Lyndon Williams, together with Board Majority Leader MaryJane Shimsky, and Legislators David Tubiolo, Terry Clements, Vedat Gashi, and Ruth Walter, proudly joined County Executive George Latimer, Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard, Assemblyman Gary Pretlow, and others for a groundbreaking ceremony marking the beginning of a long-awaited project to restore Mount Vernon's Memorial Field.
