White Plains, NY — The Westchester County Board of Legislators celebrated LGBTQ Pride Month with a special ceremony Monday night honoring local LGBTQ advocates and organizations.

White Plains, NY — The Westchester County Board of Legislators has voted to raise the age limit for the sale of tobacco and related products in Westchester from 18 to 21.

“Pebbles” the rescued pitbull puppy made an appearance at a Westchester County Board of Legislators Committee meeting on Monday where legislators were discussing Westchester’s Animal Abuser Registry. Pebbles was accompanied by Officer Ernie Lungano from the SPCA of Westchester who cared for Pebbles after she was rescued from an abusive owner who was arrested for throwing and kicking the puppy. A neighbor who witnessed and captured the video of the abuse alerted Yonkers Police, prompting the arrest. Pebbles was also accompanied by Yonkers Police Officer Neville Bennett who adopted Pebbles last week.

Legislator John Testa (R) was joined by his Legislative colleagues on Monday in unanimously passing a Bond Act in the amount of $3,940,000 for major rehabilitation work at George’s Island Park in Montrose. The Legislation was an amendment to a previous Bond Act in the amount of $210,000 which was for the design phase of the George’s Island project.
